DeeAnn Simply Beautiful Single Review: Fantastic

At first listen, DeeAnn’s new single could be written off as a a sensual, deep soul
bluesy twist on an early 70s Al Green song from his landmark #1 Billboard album “I’m Still in Love with You,” but ultimately, it’s so much more than the sum of its already phenomenal parts.
Thanks to DeeAnn’s ability to truly grip each note she sings, this version is a modern re-telling that hits all the right notes.
Simply put, this is a song to “get down” to. It’s pure sexiness personified. DeeAnn’s vocals, the palm mutes from the guitar, the bass, the backing vocals, the drum work- it all leads the imagination to that place. That’s not a terrible thing at all. In a day and age where Cardi B leaves nothing to the imagination in regards to sex in her lyrics, DeeAnn manages to put your mind in a place of honesty and love, making her work so much more palatable and unique.
In the end, this a love song that puts the love back in the lyrics and those feelings are echoed by DeeAnn on every single note.
Powered by a classic sound, an iconic original version and enough individuality from DeeAnn to stand out and stand strong, “Simply Beautiful” is a cover that’ll almost make you forget the original. No easy task.
